In a
heart-warming pro-people move, the chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb yesterday
flagged off the state government’s newly announced programme of distribution of
free ration including 20 kgs of rice among impoverished tribal people for two
months in ten blocks. This programme , initiated in the community hall of the
Mungiakami block Khowai District , was also
attended by minister for revenue Narendra Chandra Debbarma , food and civil
supply minister Manoj Kanti Deb ,.
Addressing the programme the
chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb said that the current crisis in the
tribal dominated areas was the result of total failure of the twenty five year
rule of the left front . ‘It is strange that after so many years of ruling the
state the left front could not resolve the basic problem of livelihood of the
impoverished tribals ; they are now busy slandering the new government’ said
Biplab Kumar Deb. In this context he also reiterated his resolve to make
Tripura free of the menace of drug and addiction.
Apart from this, the chief minister also asserted his resolve to improve the work culture in the administration. ‘The work has already been initiated by our ministers but I will also contribute to the process by visiting offices of various departments ; the work culture has to improve at any cost’ said Biplab.
