Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb today
visited Budjungnagar area
of Jirania subdivision west
tripura District to see a plot spreading over 200 acres of land for
establishing All India Institute
of Medical Science (AIIMS).
"I
have seen a plot spreading 265
acres of land at Budhjungnagar area
for setting up AIIMS as
the Ministry of Health and Family
Welfare has asked for 200
acres land to push the ambitious healthcare project", he told
the reporter after visiting the spot.
The area,
the Chief Minister said
appears suitable for AIIMS as
the Centre wants 200 acres of land not far from Agartala airport.
"Besides, the place is equidistance from Agartala city as well as Khumulwng, headquarters of TTAADC", he pointed out.
"Since
the land is owned by the government, we can give it to the Centre very shortly.
Once land is allotted to the Centre, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will surely give his consent to
set up AIIMS here",
he said.
Deb
further said job opportunity would be opened if AIIMS is set up at Budhjungnagar area.
People
from neighboring Bangladesh,
part of Assam, Mizoram and Manipur will also be benefitted
if AIIMS comes up at
Budhjungnagar near capital city agartala area in West Tripura district's
Jirania subdivision.
