Altogether 10.43 lakh person days have been created under MGNREGA May 31, 2018, which is more than of the corresponding year (2017), said Dy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma Yesterday.
This is the transparent government elected by the people and we don’t have any intention to hide anything, he told the media after revealing the mandays generation under the national flagship programme-MGNREGA.
The Dy CM said the Centre has released Rs. 132 crore to carry forward MGNREGA in rural areas which appears a major job generation programme by the government. “And, more fund will come if we can utilise the outlay released by the MoRD”, he said.
Dev Varma also criticised the erstwhile government on the ‘use’ of MGNREGA. “There was a High Court order to carry out special audit in all blocks to check if there was/ were discrepancies or not. In course of the audit process, some Panchayat Secretaries were suspended for wrong doings. The special audit is supposed to be completed by this month”, he said.
