Attack on the statue of the former Deputy Chief Minister Baidyanath Majumder has been condemned by all section of people cutting across political line and demanded immediate arrest of the criminals responsible for the crime. The statue in the tri-junction of #Srirampur in #Kailasahar was vandalized by some unknown miscreants on Wednesday night and the statue probably thrown in the water of the nearby Manu River. The incident came to notice only in the morning when people found that the statue was not there. Large number of people gathered as the information spread and condemned the incident. The BJP took out a procession and met the officer-in-charge of the Kailasahar Police Station. They demanded immediate arrest of the miscreants. They told the police not to see color while taking action against the miscreants. The #CPI(M) also organized procession and in a demonstration to the police station raised the same demand. Later they alleged that this might be the act of BJP supporters. #Congress #President #Birajit #Sinha also visited the spot and condemned the incident.
